Zoomquilt is a continuous journey through nested illustrated scenes. Artists contributed connected frames that dissolve into one another, creating the convincing impression of an image with no final depth.
What it is
The work automatically moves inward through surreal architecture, landscapes and figures. Direction and speed controls let you interrupt the default pace without breaking the loop.
Why it matters
Created long before infinite scroll became ordinary interface language, Zoomquilt uses continuity as the subject rather than as a way to deliver more content. The collaboration remains technically elegant and visually strange.
How to watch it
Use full-screen mode, slow the movement and give the transitions time to become visible. Moving backwards reveals how carefully each scene was designed to contain the previous one.
