Stowaway turns aircraft and satellite tracking into a view from the ground or a virtual window seat. Select something overhead and follow its journey through a rendered sky and terrain, rather than reading positions on a conventional flight map.
What you are looking at
The scene is computer-generated, not a camera feed from a cockpit. Stowaway combines tracking information with rendered terrain, lighting and weather to make a moving viewpoint.
Getting started
Start the sky view and select an object, or choose an aircraft or satellite from the list of current rides. Tracking and visualisation are the main attraction; you do not need to use the optional chat assistant.
What to expect
Allow the atmosphere and terrain to load. Night-time scenes can be very dark, and the available aircraft depend on tracking coverage.
Things to know
- Requires WebGL 2 and a capable device.
- Tracking can be incomplete or delayed.
- Simulated views are not live onboard footage.
