SCREENSHOT / SEPTEMBER 2026

Mathigon combines guided courses with Polypad manipulatives and a large collection of mathematical activities. Geometry, probability, graph theory, fractals and many other subjects are taught through objects you can move, change and investigate.

Choose the right doorway

Courses provide a structured route through a topic, while activities and Polypad are better for open experimentation. Begin with a question you already care about; the collection is large enough that browsing every section first can become its own distraction.

Touch the mathematics

Many explanations contain tiles, graphs, constructions or simulations that react as you move them. Change one variable at a time and describe what remains invariant, because the useful lesson is the relationship revealed by the motion rather than the animation itself.

Use it beyond solo study

Teachers can use the manipulatives to demonstrate an idea or prepare an activity, while independent learners can revisit a difficult diagram without holding up a class. Saving progress and classroom management require the relevant account features.

Things to know

  • The breadth of tools and courses can feel difficult to navigate at first.
  • An account is required to retain progress between sessions.
  • Course depth and completion vary across subjects and languages.
