SCREENSHOT / SEPTEMBER 2026

Earth Nullschool turns global forecast and observation datasets into a fluid, explorable globe. Wind becomes moving particles, while overlays reveal temperature, ocean currents, waves and atmospheric chemistry.

What it shows

The menu switches between air, ocean and chemistry modes, with altitude, projection and date controls. Clicking the map returns a local value while the global animation keeps the surrounding system visible.

Why it is different

Most weather products begin with a location and a forecast. Earth begins with the whole system, making jet streams, cyclones and ocean circulation easier to understand as connected movement.

How to read it

Start with surface wind, then compare temperature or pressure at the same time. Treat it as an exploratory visualisation and follow the listed data source when a decision requires authoritative local information.

Things to know

  • Many layers are model outputs rather than direct observations.
  • The interface assumes some familiarity with weather units.
  • It should not replace official hazard guidance.
